Sorry, the music might not be dead, but the scene is gone. The fact that the phrase "Punks not Dead" is used, is more proof than anything.

I love the music.

Dmbraley I am a huge Misfits fan myself. Won my 8th grade talent show with my "band" playing Hybrid Moments. Made sure to really enunciate the "rape your face" part. Got the chance to see Jerry Only's version of the Misfits when he had Marky Ramone on the skins and Dez from Black Flag on the guitar. Nothing really special other than it was Jerry Only and that he was an original 'fit.

Now, I got to see DANZIG at the Wiltern in L.A. twice. The first time was great because it was Danzig. Not a huge fan of his stuff, but sh*t...it's Danzig. The second time I saw him was the closest I or anybody will ever get to a Misfits reunion, for he had Doyle come out and play a whole Mifits set in between his show. CRAZY. It was seriously 30 minutes worth of 'fit songs, which means they probably played all of them.

She
Horror Business
Some Kinda Hate
American Nightmare

You name it. One of the best shows I've ever been to.

Thats cool, I saw the 'fits on the merican Psycho tour back in 98 with Mary and the Intruders and H2O..good show but I think Jerry and Doyle were the only original members, they had C.H.U.D. on drums and Graves on vocals, good show though.

I realize the scene is dead and in a way Im glad because its just further proof that all these losers nowadays have no right to claim any connection to real punk... I'll post here if we ever get much going so all you other punks can have a listen

Yea the Cramps were rad. Lux scared me. That was the point though.

I absolutely love blues, rock and rockabilly, so naturally the Cramps and their style were attractive to me.

Technically it's still alive, just sitting fat on a couch in Finsbury Park (or wherever Johnny Rotten lives) watching Arsenal games and remembering when people used to be intimidated by him ;-)

The other half of the Pistols, Steve Jones (wrote and played the guitar AND base on NMTB), is True Blue, lives in LA and I would expect to see him at the Rose Bowl.

Good stuff and to add to my Misfits post above, the Damned were the band that opened that show. Vanian was solid.
