CIA Welcomes New Chapters


We're 1/3 of the way into the 2018-19 season and the 14th year of Chelsea in America.

Among our five Official Supporter Group regions (American Heartland, Carefree CA, Desert Texas, Mid Atlantic and Southeast USA), Chelsea in America is a coalition of more than 30 local chapter from Seattle to Miami, San Diego to members up in the NE Tri State area.

CIA officially 'recognizes' local chapters with at least 10 paid CIA members and a meeting location (a pub). That qualifies you as a group rather than just a table for four. Official recognition gets a chapter listed on the CIA web site and the chapter secretary gets included in leadership updates. In addition, we have more than 150 members from around the country that aren't members of an officially recognized group but are Chelsea supporters.

This year, we welcome four new local chapters that are building membership in new towns:

• North Florida Blues: New formed in the Tallahassee area, the North Florida Blues meet at several pubs around Tallahassee depending on kick off times. Check the No Florida Blues social media sites for the weekly pub and make sure you introduce yourself to long time CIA member Michael Killian.

• Triangle Blues: The Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area's new Chelsea supporter group is led by Shel Brannan. The Triangle Blues meet match days at Ruckus Pizza, Pasta, and Spirits (Arboretum) in Cary, NC,, about 5 miles from NC State.

• East Bay Counties Blues: The latest start up is in Oakland at The Athletic Club. Recently formed, this new option for those Bay Area folks northwest of San Francisco and San Jose can join Max Juarez match days.
