Correct answer to question: Stamford Bridge is located in what London burough? Hammersmith & Fulham.

Crib notes:

• 116 years ago, the owners of Stamford Bridge wanted a football tenant, but Fulham FC declined. So, they created their own club.

• March 10, 1905: Chelsea FC was founded in ‘The Rising Sun’ pub on Fulham Road (now the Butcher’s Hook) across from Stamford Bridge. There is something perfect about Chelsea being created in a pub.

• Debated names: Stamford Bridge FC, London FC, or Kensington FC. They settled on Chelsea FC, naming the club after the borough adjacent Fulham since there as already a Fulham FC.

• Stamford Bridge sits on the borough border of Hammersmith and Fulham. The train tracks behind the East Stand is the divide. Walk out the Shed End, turn left on Fulham Road and go 100 yards… then you’d be in the Burough of Kensington and Chelsea.
